The activities of the Division include the identification and analysis of short and long-term airspace requirements from users, i.e. airline operations, military and general aviation; the long-term development and validation of improved Airspace Management strategies to enhance the flexible utilisation of airspace, taking into account related military and ATFM developments and the design, development and validation of short-term improvements to airspace management. The navigation domain objectives are to develop and maintain the navigation strategy and implementation plan ensuring it meets the ATM2000+ objectives and contributes to a safe and cost-effective means of meeting future ECAC capacity requirements. The route network development activity organises and carries out the development and co-ordination of planning and implementation activities needed to optimise the ATS route network and support sectorisation in the ECAC area, in both en-route and terminal airspace. |

The successful candidate will be assigned to DAP/APN and will be based with the Navigation Team at the EUROCONTROL Experimental Centre at Brétigny Sur Orge, France which is responsible for a number of GNSS related aspects of the navigation activities. The candidate will be responsible for:
executing studies related to the application of GNSS and spaced based augmentations to RNAV approach operations; supporting the management of trial SBAS implementation projects funded under the European Commission TEN-T arrangements; using the experience gained from the trial implementation projects to develop guidance material for the introduction of navigation applications; supporting the elaboration of business and safety cases for navigation applications; supporting stakeholder consultations on the implementation of RNAV approach applications |

University degree in a navigation related field preferably related to aviation applications or equivalent professional experience. Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a relevant domain. Ability to identify, analyse and solve problems. Pragmatic, pro-active and result-oriented approach with good project management knowledge. Ability to structure and effectively communicate complex issues (oral / written) in a clear way. Familiarity with a multinational and multicultural environment would be an asset. The working languages of the Agency are English and French. For this particular post, candidates must have an excellent command of English and a working knowledge of French. |

An initial selection will be made by a Selection Committee on the basis of the candidates' qualifications and experience. Thereafter, those candidates considered suitable may be invited to assessment and interviews. The selected candidate will be offered a contract of three years. The contract may be renewed once for a fixed period of not more than three years. Before being confirmed in his/her post, the selected candidate will have to complete a probationary period of 9 months. The contract will be governed by the provisions of the "Conditions of Employment of Contract Staff at EUROCONTROL".
