The Republic of Slovenia is going to fulfil specific military responsibilities as a member of NATO. The Ministry of Defence is charged with performing the required tasks and has asked Frequentis to modernise its existing communication systems for air traffic control and air defence.
The new order includes new VHF and UHF radios and state-of-the-art communication facilities for an Air Surveillance Operations Centre (ASOC) and an airbase. The communication system will be completed in 2010 and will also support the transfer of sensitive and classified information. The supply contract also includes a recording system: DIVOSlog by Frequentis records and stores all voice and radio messages. The data is then available for analysing any flight safety incidents that might occur.
This order is an important step for Frequentis as the company moves into military air traffic markets in southern and southeastern Europe.
Frequentis guides todays data and voice communication solution platforms towards a future network centric concept in which secure information sharing is essential. Due to a distinctive architecture, high quality, an outstanding level of availability and reliability, an award winning Human Machine Interface and the provision of interoperability the Frequentis communication solutions represent a safe investment into current and future communication requirements. Frequentis products meet or exceed international MIL-standards and are designed for awide range of applications and enable Network Centric Capabilities.
