Instructor / Academy Manager (ICAO) and International Sales

Global ATS Limited (GATS) is seeking a candidate to fulfil the role to manage a portfolio of high quality International Air Traffic Control training programmes, provide continuity and leadership within the team of International Course Instructors and an expansion of world-wide International sales.

GATS are a world leader in the provision of Air Traffic Control, Specialist Aviation and Aviation English Language Training from its headquarters located at Staverton Airport, Cheltenham, United Kingdom.

You will be able to work with the executive team and a team of GATS world-wide market associates to provide existing customers with multi-product options as well as sales assistance and guidance.

This position will be based in Cheltenham United Kingdom.


  • International Sales management. Oversight of ICAO Courses and instructors.
  • Ensure ICAO instructors are trained in accordance with Global UTP.
  • Provide occasional classroom and simulator based instructional training.
  • Maintain quality and ensure courseware is complete and up to date.
  • Manage International tender opportunities for International training requirements.
  • Work cooperatively with the Chief Instructor and UK Courses Manager.
  • Initiate proactive International sales programme with the Business Development team.
  • Manage International accounts; increase positive relationships and ensure satisfied customers.
  • Attend international and regional trade shows.
  • Identify social, cultural and government issues that impact GATS business in assigned territories.
  • Research International targeted sales segments and channels in assigned territories and develop recommendations for actions.
  • Act as a resource for interpreting and communicating international market issues and requirements with GATS management.

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Previous Sales or Technical Aviation experience.
  • At least 10 years multi-rated active experience as an ATCO in the UK or ICAO environment.
  • Experience teaching UK CAA approved and/or ICAO standard courses.
  • Experience at a UK CAA or ICAO certified related regulatory position, or similar Aviation related skills in Piloting or Air Navigation.
  • High standard of written and spoken English required (English as primary mother-tongue language and cultural fluency preferred) Additional languages a benefit – Russian/ Arabic/ Spanish preferential.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining customer relationships; however candidates should apply where excellent technical and /or sales skills are proven.

    • Senior Air Traffic Control Mangers
    • Government HOD (Regulators and National Authorities)
  • Proven sales experience.
  • The ability to travel.
