Frequentis releases smartMessenger v4.0:

The latest release of smartMessenger v4.0 includes enhanced optimization algorithms in the X.400 Message Transfer Agent (MTA) and Message Transfer and Control Unit (MTCU) components, resulting in exceptional levels of performance, availability, and reliability.
The high performance X.400 MTA, in combination with high speed queuing functions for AFTN and AMHS messaging, enables smartMessenger to achieve a minimum performance level of 350 AMHS messages switched per second when one MTA is connected, higher performance when multiple MTAs are connected due to multi-threaded and parallel processing.

In addition to its high speed message switching capacity, smartMessenger provides operators and managers with the tools they require to quickly access messages and to fully configure the system with zero application downtime.

smartMessenger is designed to be available 24 hours per day, 365 days a year, without interruption of service and without loss of messages. The total availability rate of the system is greater than 99.999 %.

smartMessenger achieves this high rate of availability by implementing a fast switchover time between the primary and the standby computer servers, and by featuring a fully redundant hardware architecture with hot swappable disks in server RAID arrays, redundant hot swappable power supplies, redundant trunked LAN backbones, and by implementing bonded IP addressing on redundant LAN controllers in CPU servers, workstations, terminal servers, and circuit splitter switches.

John Fort, Product Manager, commented that smartMessenger is field proven with a growing worldwide base of satisfied customers and with the release of smartMessenger v4.0 which was developed entirely in-house. Frequentis ensures long term support and commitment to its customers without relying on third party entities.
