FREQUENTIS ATM Users’ Experience Conference Celebrates its Debut in Budapest

- Vienna, Austria.

From October 19-21, the first Frequentis ATM Users’ Experience Conference took place in Budapest, Hungary. The event, hosted by Hungarian Air Navigation Services Provider (ANSP) HungaroControl, brought together 40 senior-level stakeholders from European ANSPs. ATM professionals from 19 countries exchanged experiences and views on how to enhance value of assets and further improve performance, operational efficiency and total cost of ownership in air traffic control.

The two-day programme focussed on common points of interest in the fast developing ATM Industry today and tomorrow as outlined by SESAR, the ATM master plan and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The conference identified and discussed industry-wide areas of activities, supporting Air Navigation Service business to share the best practises between the ATM Users trusting in Frequentis products and services. As Kornél Szepessy, CEO HungaroControl put it: “According to a saying, in theory there is no difference between theory and practice but in practice there is. We strongly believe that science, including the most excellent technological developments, can only be tested in practice, the ever so close cooperation between developers and users has become one of the key drivers of efficiency. That’s why it was with utmost pleasure that we engaged in the Frequentis ATM Users’ Experience Forum right from the beginning and offered to host the very first conference. We are thrilled that so many high-level representatives and ATM professionals accepted our invitation and brought in their expertise and experiences in presentations and fruitful discussions.”

Hannu Juurakko, Frequentis Vice President ATM Civil commented: “Frequentis has an extensive access to a most experienced ATM users’ community in more than 100 countries, controlling significant amount of the total airspace. For us, this market-leading position also comes with the responsibility to stimulate information exchange within the ATM industry, in order to maximise the value of our products, services and solutions. We were delighted by our customers’ strong commitment to launching this new format and embraced the initiative to set up the forum.” He continues: “Our greatest thanks go to the European ANSPs, especially to HungaroControl, who took the lead to make this conference happen. We are already looking forward to the next Frequentis Users’ Experience Conference in 2016 hosted by Croatia Control. The next event will expand the list of participants also to ANSPs from outside Europe.”
