QCAA accepts recording and investigation solution with DIVOS

- Vienna, Austria.

In late 2015, the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) awarded Frequentis the contract to provide recording and investigation for its air traffic control tower at Al Khor Airport, which is now equipped with the Frequentis market-leading voice recording solution DIVOS 3 log. QCAA has been utilising Frequentis voice communication systems since 1998; this contract award reinforces their trust in the company’s innovative and proven voice communication and investigation solutions.

Located in the south of Al Khor in the State of Qatar, the airport is mostly used by General Aviation aircrafts. The Frequentis solution provides a reliable and holistic evaluation of safety-related airborne situations and mission-critical audio data, utilising the DIVOS 3 log system. The deployment period from contract award to site acceptance took only four months.

Frequentis DIVOS 3 log is more than just a recording system. Developed to respond to the needs of mission-critical environments in the ATM domain, it provides a unique platform combining communication and automation data. The solution enables synchronised analysis of all relevant data such as voice, screen, radar and any other information of interest. Virtualisation capabilities and the integration with the Frequentis communication and automation portfolio further increases availability and functionality while reducing total cost of ownership. Thus by enabling the use of shared hardware components, as well as lowering installation and maintenance costs.

The system implemented helps QCAA to analyse their ATC operational audio data in a very cost effective manner. It provides QCAA the tools to archive and replay and improves operations at Al Khor.
