GroupEAD extends its collaboration with EUROCONTROL, to support EAD clients with the transition to AIXM 5.1

- Madrid, Spain.

GroupEAD, the EAD service and training provider on behalf of EUROCONTROL, has extended its collaboration with the Brussels’ based European Organisation for supporting EAD clients with the transition to SDD.

Static and Dynamic Data (SDD) is the evolution of Static Data Operations (SDO), the AIXM 4.5 database of the EAD. With the aim of future implementation of digital NOTAM and in line with ADQ requirements, EUROCONTROL has developed SDD, an AIXM 5.1 database that will store the aeronautical data of EAD clients and support future digital NOTAM operations. As its predecessor, SDD will also allow simultaneous, multinational AIM operations, benefiting from additional AIXM 5.1 capabilities.

With this new collaboration, GroupEAD will extend its support to EAD clients for transitioning to SDD. In a first step, GroupEAD will prepare a GAP Analysis report to check the fitness state of the Data Provider. After that, GroupEAD will support the Data Providers with the transition to SDD.

The EAD is the world’s largest centralised database of quality-assured aeronautical information and at the same time, a fully integrated, state-of-the-art Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) solution, used simultaneously by more than 450 clients.

The consolidation of SDD and the operational migration of EAD into AIXM 5.1 is a key milestone for the international AIM community on the implementation of the latest AIXM standard.

“We expect that SDD will support the international community in setting a standard for AIXM 5.1, which shall enable the efficient interoperability and data exchange between states” said Heinz-Michael Kraft, CEO of GroupEAD Europe.
