NAV Portugal celebrates training Protocol with East-Timor

NAV Portugal and the Government of the Special Administrative Region of Oé-Cusse Ambeno, East-Timor, have signed last Wednesday, July 1^st a technical and operational cooperation agreement covering the area of Air Navigation Services, with the aim to establish joint activities and programmes, as well as the exchange of knowledge and expertise.

The Agreement has been signed by the President of the Board of Administrators of NAV Portugal, Mr. Luis Coimbra and by the President of the Development Fund for the Special Administrative Region of Oé-Cusse Ambino and the Special Areas of Market Social Economy Mr. Mari Bim Amud Alkatiry and focuses on the general and technical Training of technical and operational staff; equipment and systems for air navigation support and consultancy.

While visiting the facilities of NAV Portugal, the delegation of the Democratic Republic of East-Timor composed by the Regional Secretaries of the Special Administrative Region of Oé-Cusse, Ambeno for the Administration and Finance Affairs, Mrs. Leonia Monteiro, and for the Territorial and Registry Planning, Mr. Pedro Sousa Xavier, by the attaché for Commerce of the East-Timor Embassy in Portugal, Mr. Victor Tavares, had the opportunity to get acquainted with the Air Traffic Control Centre of Lisbon as well as the Training Centre of NAV Portugal. This particular Centre has been fully certified by international entities for the development of technical and operational training in the area of Air Traffic Services.
