Thales ScanSim ATC simulator passes Site Acceptance Test by the civil aviation authority of Colombia (UAEAC).

The UAEAC seeks the development of aviation and of the Colombian aviation industry. It also works on the implementation of the highest levels of operational security in the aviation sector, to ensure the safety of all air transport users. To support this objective, its students are trained by the CEA (Centre for Aeronautic Studies) with the latest technology.

Following the signing of the contract in December 2014 between Thales and UAEAC, the provision of ScanSim will allow Colombia to continue to offer the best in high-end aeronautical controllers training to UAEAC but also for other countries. This comprehensive and cost-effective simulator will house 7 positions for en-route training. The contract also includes a 360° ATC Tower Simulator with 6 positions and the modelling of the Bogota airport, as well as training for the future modelling of other airports.
