ATS & FIS Training

Entry Point North offers various courses for Air Traffic Services (ATS) personnel. 

ATS Basic course: The Basic ATS course is designed for students who have been selected by Air Navigation Service Providers to become:

• Flight Information Service Officers in an en-route or aerodrome environment
• Air Traffic Controller Assistants, Flight Data Operators/Assistants/Officers, or similar
• Aeronautical Information Service Officers

The course gives students a basic understanding of Air Navigation Services in general and Air Traffic Services specifically. Students who pass the course may progress further on to Rating Training courses or directly to Unit Training.

AFIS course: This course is designed for students who have been selected by Air Navigation Service Providers to become Aerodrome Flight Information Officers. Students who pass the course receive a student certificate of competency for Aerodrome Flight Information Service.

AFIS Refresher course: This course refreshes the knowledge and skills of qualified AFIS operators. Participants can take it as a stand-alone course, or as part of the yearly competency program at their unit. We recommend the latter, for which we can assist in creating a comprehensive plan. This plan can include theoretical and practical refresher training, question banks, eLearning which the unit can conduct independently year-round, and theoretical assessment.
