G&D celebrates opening of new location with state-of-the-art showroom in Dubai

Dubai office as the central location for the Asia, Middle East and Africa region. - The KVM manufacturer Guntermann & Drunck GmbH (G&D) celebrated the opening of its new Middle East branch in Dubai on April 23, 2025. The highlight of the event was the opening of the state-of-the-art showroom, ControlCenter-Xperience (CCX). Tamby Alasker, Director of Sales for the region, led the opening ceremony, where he officially inaugurated the new location alongside business partners and invited guests.

Gambia Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) enhances safety at Banjul Airport following delivery of key navigation systems from SYSTEMS INTERFACE

Systems Interface Ltd has completed the installation, commissioning and flight check of Doppler VHF Omnidirectional Radio Range (DVOR) and co-located Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) for the GCAA at Banjul International Airport in The Gambia. Following an international tender, Systems Interface was contracted to complete the turnkey provision of these essential systems. Initially this included the site survey, detailed system design, and coverage analysis. Following the de-commissioning of the existing equipment, Systems Interface installed and commissioned the new equipment.

CAAS Director General re-appointed as Asia Pacific chair of CANSO

Mr Han Kok Juan, Director-General, Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), was re-appointed Chair of the Asia Pacific Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO) CEO Committee and member of the CANSO Executive Committee on 24 April 2025 for a new two-year term. Mr Han was first appointed Chair of the Asia Pacific CANSO CEO Committee on 19 August 2021 and was re-appointed on 11 July 2023.The CANSO CEO Committee for the Asia Pacific region, which comprises 23 air navigation service providers (ANSPs), governs and directs the work of CANSO Asia Pacific.

The assessment, carried out by Steer - a global consultancy with expertise in aviation and cost-benefit analysis - and commissioned as part of NATS’ regulatory requirements, validates the transformative impact of the technology in modernising oceanic air traffic management, finding that for every £1 spent, the system delivers roughly £2 in value to airlines.
