QinetiQ Ltd providing specialist ATM advice to Project MARSHALL

- Farnborough, UK.

On 29 October 2014, the UK Government announced it had signed a £1.5 billion deal with Aquila (a joint venture between Thales and NATS) for the provision of equipment and maintenance necessary to enable the UK Military’s static and deployable Air Traffic Management (ATM) capability, including overseas sites.

Acting as ‘Customer Friend’, QinetiQ has been involved in the programme, known as MARSHALL, from the outset.   From initial site visits and Requirements capture activities to in-depth technical and operational analysis of bidder’s developing proposals, QinetiQ has provided specialist ATM related advice and guidance in the key areas of Surveillance, Communications, Navigation, Interoperability, Environment, Training and Safety.  This advice, given by a recognised team of domain experts from across QinetiQ has been essential to the MOD’s decision making throughout the procurement process and has been highly valued by the programme’s Delivery Team.
