AFGATE System with AFMAILER installed at Abu Dhabi

- Cramlington, U.K.

Copperchase were recently contracted by the United Arab Emirates National Center of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) to supply and install a high availability AFTN messaging system for use at Abu Dhabi International Airport

The system installed was the Copperchase AFTN Gateway system, the Copperchase AFGATE. The system receives AFTN messages from the U.A.E. General Civil Aviation Authority via TCP/IP and distributes them to various locations around the airport via network and serial connections. In addition it also sends and receives messages from the other local airports such as Al Bateen Airport and Al Ain International Airport via email utilising the Copperchase AFTN to Email product, the Copperchase AFMAILER.

In the future the system will be expanded to provide messaging for the rest of the U.A.E.

The system was designed, built and tested in our Poole offices and completed the Factory Acceptance Test in December 2014.

In March 2015 Copperchase started the installation phase at the offices of the National Center of Meteorology and Seismology at Abu Dhabi International Airport. The build was completed in a few days and was followed by a period testing and training. The Site Acceptance Test was completed on 24th March 2015.
