DW International supplies RNAV Validation Tool to Mongolian CAA

DWI is pleased to announce that the Mongolian CAA (MCAA) has selected the RNAV Validation Tool (RVT) to support the validation of RNAV and RNP procedures. The RVT is used by airlines, operators and ANSPs as a cost-effective aid to performing ground validation of procedures in a simulator or procedure design resource.

Having developed the prototype RVT with EUROCONTROL to validate RNAV and RNP procedures against PANS-OPS criteria, DWI has further developed the tool to improve the user interface and add functionality, such as import/export capability and procedure evaluation. The tool allows for iterative analysis of scenarios allowing comparison of calculated aircraft trajectories for standard aircraft types and configurable meteorological conditions.

“We are encouraged that more ANSPs are now seeing the benefits of a tool such as the RVT. The desktop application is easy to use and it will become a platform for a range of additional capabilities, including noise contour modelling and fuel-flow/emissions analysis,” said Kieran Conlon, Head of Operations and Support at DWI. “We are looking forward to continuing our work with the MCAA.”

"The RVT is helping MCAA to implement RNAV and RNP procedures in Mongolia," said Enebish Gavaa, the Head of Equipment Maintenance Section of Flight Inspection and Procedure Design Division of MCAA. "The tool is easy to use and we are happy with the support from DW International."
