GroupEAD and EUROCONTROL will continue their successful EAD cooperation until 2020

- Madrid, Spain.

During the World ATM Congress, GroupEAD and EUROCONTROL have signed the extension of the agreement for the management of the European AIS Database (EAD) until 2020, continuing the successful cooperation that started back in 2003.

The EAD is the world’s largest centralised reference database of quality-assured aeronautical information, and simultaneously, a fully integrated, state-of-the-art Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) solution. GroupEAD, the world’s largest end-to-end AIM Service Provider, manages EAD data operations and training on behalf of EUROCONTROL.

The current EAD contract has saved users more than €60 million since it was introduced. Over the last 13 years of operation, more than 40 States and ANSPs have decided to migrate to the full use of the EAD and have benefitted from the cost reductions associated with it.

The consistently high quality service delivered by GroupEAD has been key for the extension of this agreement. Processing more than 1.500 NOTAMS per day and supporting the simultaneous operation of the system by more than 300 users, GroupEAD continues to contribute to the development of the AIM industry.

After 13 years of successful EAD operation, EUROCONTROL’s trust in GroupEAD strengthens SigningGroupEADEurocontrolour relationship and sets the basis for continuing with this top quality AIM service for the benefit of all EAD customers” said Heinz-Michael Kraft, CEO of GroupEAD Europe.
