Malawis AIM System Achieves Full Factory Acceptance

COMSOFT and Tanzanian IT specialist Techno Brain successfully passed factory acceptance tests for the German ATC suppliers technologically unrivalled AIM system.
Only three months after being selected for the provision of their renowned AIM solution, representatives of Techno Brain and COMSOFT have achieved the first major milestone and successfully completed factory acceptance tests in Karlsruhe, Germany.
Earlier this year, the Tanzanian-based IT and Billing specialist Techno Brain was awarded a contract for a nation-wide IT infrastructure project from the Malawi Department of Civil Aviation (MDCA), covering billing services and state-of-the-art information distribution between the ANSPs headquarters and the NOTAM and MET offices in Lilongwe as well as the international airports in Lilongwe and Blantyre.
The centrepiece of this IT infrastructure will be the cutting-edge AIM and terminal system CADAS provided by the German ATC expert COMSOFT, comprising aeronautical databases and highly comfortable user terminals for NOTAMs, flight plans and meteorological information. Moreover, the ANSP will receive the advanced eAIP system GroupVerve in full accordance with the latest relevant EUROCONTROL standards.
Thanks to the web technology-based open interfaces of the CADAS system, it can be easily integrated with the billing system supplied by Techno Brain in order to feed the billing process automatically with most accurate ATC information.
COMSOFT and Techno Brain are looking forward to contributing to a significant improvement of the consistency and distribution of aeronautical data which will in turn contribute to the aspiring tourist infrastructure in Malawi, boosting the countrys economy.
