STARS selects the GRPS Web UI for RAIM Predictions

DWI is pleased to announce that STARS (Shock Trauma Air Rescue Service), a Canadian emergency air service, has selected the GNSS RAIM/RNP Prediction Service Web-based User Interface (GRPS Web UI) to support its PBN operations.

The web service provides a user-friendly interface, allowing flight planners and dispatchers to perform pre-flight RAIM checks, store tail configurations, aerodromes, waypoints and entire routes to reduce workload and potential human error. Due to ease of use, a short training course, given via web conference, was all that was required for STARS to learn how to manage and operate the GRPS Web UI. STARS will continue to receive support from the DWI dedicated support helpdesk.

“It is critical that STARS has access to RAIM predictions 24/7 for its emergency services,” said John Wilde, CEO at DWI. “The GRPS Web UI offers at least 99.5% availability and we are proud that it is supporting such a vital emergency service.”

"With the nature of our EMS service, STARS requires the ability to plan IFR flights quickly. With 36 hospitals having stand alone GPS approaches it is critical that we are able to get accurate RAIM predictions. DWI's GRPS Web UI does this and much more. We were able to set up user groups so that each of our six bases could get information that was crucial to their area of operation. DWI's service is a must have for GPS operations," said Alan Baldwin, Chief Pilot of STARS.
