Systems Interface completes prestigious contract for SSR International airport

Systems Interface has successfully completed a prestigious contract awarded by The Civil Aviation Authority Central Procurement Board of Mauritius for the supply, installation and commissioning of replacement Navigational Aids at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam (SSR) International Airport
With challenging topography at the site for the ILS Localiser antenna array, Systems Interface brought to bear its extensive technical expertise, carried out detailed computer modelling and designed and manufactured a bespoke 8 metre high gantry, capable of withstanding cyclonic winds up to 250km per hour to ensure the Localiser met the stringent requirements of ICAO Annex 10 for CAT-II operations. Due to the urgency of the project all systems were designed, manufactured and installed within a very short timescale to ensure minimum downtime of the ILS. Systems Interface also provided project management, installation, commissioning and system integration of a Selex 2100 ILS and associated remote control and status systems, together with training and all associated civil works. The successful flight inspection saw the new installation entering operational service on 21 November 2009. Completion of this turnkey project is further recognition of the expertise of Systems Interface in the field of ground based navigational aids.
