Inauguration of the first Ground Master radar in French Guiana.

This week saw the inauguration of the Ground Master 400 radar of ThalesRaytheonSystems in Kourou, French Guiana, in the presence of General Adam, Supreme Commander of French Guiana, Colonel Besse, Commander of the Cayenne airbase and Jérôme Bendell, Vice-President of ThalesRaytheonSystems, France. 

This radar will be dedicated to the surveillance of airspace and will reinforce the air defense capability, general flight safety and interagency cooperation. It will participate particularly in the protection of the European Space Centre based in Kourou.
