UFA, Israel Airports Authority (IAA) Shortlisted for 2018 Jane’s ATC Award

- Burlington, MA. USA.

UFA, Inc., a leading provider of Air Traffic Simulation and Voice Technologies, announced its successful collaborative effort with the Israel Airports Authority to conduct Emergency Team Coordination Training Simulations for Ben Gurion Airport has been shortlisted for the 2018 Jane’s ATC Award in the Runway category. This category recognizes organizations that prove they have made a difference in improving safety and efficiency on the runway and final approach. The 2018 Jane’s ATC Awards winners will be announced March 6 at the World ATM Congress in Madrid.

UFA’s work with IAA during their airport-wide Emergency Team Coordination Training drills introduced the use of high fidelity ATTower® Air Traffic Control Tower simulation linked with ATVehicle™ Airside Driving Simulation. Introduction of the linked simulation capability allowed for the creation of complex, real-world scenarios for realistic training of coordination between all airport groups, including Ground Operations, Fire and Rescue Services, Security, and Air Traffic Control. The new tools allow IAA to remain at the forefront of improving safety and efficiently when responding to even the most strenuous of situations that can occur at Ben Gurion Airport.
