Unpacking SESAR Remote Tower Services

The SESAR Joint Undertaking with members are organising a two-day event, kindly hosted by Dublin Airport Authority (DAA), to share and present the current SESAR work and results on Remote Tower Services.

The concept enables Air Traffic Control services (ATS) and Aerodrome Flight Information Services (AFIS) to be provided at aerodromes, where such services are either currently unavailable, or where it is difficult or costly to implement and staff a conventionally-manned facility.

The event, which will take place on 12 and 13 June at Dublin Airport, will provide an overview of the work undertaken within SESAR to develop and verify/validate the Remote Tower concept. The meeting will also present the regulatory and standardisation activities underway to support the next steps towards implementation of these services.

Participants will have an opportunity to hear from various key stakeholders including, air navigation service providers, national and regional authorities, manufacturing industry and staff associations on the business views of introducing Remote Tower Services.
