The word virtualisation is used in many relations and the reality is, that, as the vision in the Airspace Architecture, we are talking “Remote En-route ATC”. What are the drivers behind the concept, what are the implications and opportunities, and what are the initial barriers? This is not a SESAR R&D perspective, but COOPANS considerations of how to exploit if the expected benefits are realistic. The presentation is followed by an interactive Q&A session.
About our speakers: Mr. Palle Gericke and Mr. Erik Langevi (Naviair)
Mr. Palle Gericke is Chairman of the COOPANS Improvement Group at Naviair. He has more than 40 years of experience within ATM, among other roles as an Air Traffic Controller. Additionally, he has a master degree in “Innovation & Management of Technology”, DTU, USF, Berkeley, Oxford.
Mr. Erik Langevi is an Air Traffic Controller and Senior ATM Expert at Naviair, as well as COOPANS PoC in SESAR Virtual Center activities, and Validation leader and Project Manager in COOPANS/SESAR.
