Successful Training at Punta Arenas (Chile)

The Chilean ANSP (Air Navigation Service Provider), DGAC (Dirección General de Aeronautica Civil), awarded SITTI the supply of new VCSs (Voice Communication Systems) to increase and modernize their air traffic control capacity. Most recently, new VCS systems have been provided for installation at Punta Arenas airport (Presidente Carlos Ibañez del Campo), at the DGAC laboratory and at the Aeródromo Teniente Marsh on an island close to Antarctica. During November, SITTI taught a training course to the DGAC personnel in Punta Arenas.

Saab to enhance Air Traffic Management in Australia’s major airports

Saab and Airservices Australia have signed a master service agreement for the airports in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth. The agreement reinforces the long-term commitment and partnership between Saab and Airservices Australia. The service agreement ensures that Airservices Australia will have Saab’s advanced tower automation system with the latest version of Saab Integrated Air Traffic Control Suite (I-ATS) advanced automation product installed and kept up to date for its largest airports in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth.

ENAIRE upgrades the Randa radar with 3D technology, a key element in air traffic control in the Balearic Islands

ENAIRE, the state air navigation manager, is carrying out major maintenance work on the Randa radar (Mallorca), a critical facility in the management of air traffic in the Balearic Islands. The work includes replacing the large spherical structure that protects its antenna, a component technically known as the ‘radome’. The introduction of 3D (three-dimensional) technology represents a significant step forward in innovation that improves the radar’s performance. ENAIRE’s radars play a vital role in guaranteeing flight safety.
