HungaroControl is one of the most successful state-owned companies in Hungary, which provides air navigation services in the Hungarian airspace and (on a NATO assignment) the upper airspace over Kosovo, trains air control personnel and conducts air navigation research and development.
The company’s sole shareholder is the Hungarian State, while the rights of the founder and owner are exercised by the Minister for National Development. With over 700 employees, HungaroControl’s business is balanced and profitable without any budgetary subsidy. The company supports the Single European Sky programme aimed at improving the efficiency of European air transport; and is a member of the Functional Airspace Block Central Europe (FAB CE) along with the Austrian, Czech, Slovakian, Croatian, Slovenian and Bosnian service providers.
HungaroControl responds to the challenges posed by European integration with twelve innovative programmes. The three pillars of its complex company development strategy include optimising corporate operations, improving air navigation services and infrastructure, as well as creating an international training, research, development and simulation knowledge centre.
The purpose of HungaroControl is to increase the international recognition of Hungarian air navigation services through the steady improvement of its services, and to raise the company’s value through investments and by operating competitively.
