Technician
DFS Aviation Services are seeking to add a Technician to their team. The role includes the following tasks:
- Ensuring the reliability and constant availability of our air traffic control systems, communication facilities and transmission paths as part of rotating shift services
- Visual verification of the operational readiness of high-availability server systems (mainly under LINUX and UNIX derivatives) through operation, monitoring, configuration and maintenance
- Responsibility for the permanent operability of the voice transmission and recording systems
- Installation of IT systems and components as well as system and network administratio
- Usually independent execution of commissioning work and its documentation
- Release of facilities
- Processing of data, including maintenance of configuration data and creation and maintenance of relevant documentation
- Regular support of colleagues in product and project management (when setting up, commissioning and modifying systems or equipment as well as error analysis)
Applicants will have the following background:
- Successfully completed technical training, preferably in an electrical engineering subject (electrical engineering, communications engineering, communications electronics or electronic data processing)
- Experience in the maintenance of electrotechnical systems and plants
- Network and Linux knowledge
- Knowledge of handling client/server-based systems
- Good written and spoken English knowledge
- Readiness for training and further education
- Class B driver's license
