33rd ARTAS User Group was held in Karlsruhe, Germany

From 29 to 31 October the European ATM Tracker and Server (ARTAS) User Group (AUG) met for the 33rd time. COMSOFT presented the new AWA (ARTAS for WAM and ADS-C) development.
COMSOFT_aug08As one highlight of the latest assembly COMSOFT could showcase the AWA prototype and the new software version V8, a most substantial extension of ARTAS in support of the upcoming WAM (Wide Area Multilateration) and ADS C technology. By its market launch in mid 2009 ARTAS will then cover all current and future surveillance requirements.
KARLSRUHE/GERMANY, October 2008 The 33rd ARTAS user group gathered in Karlsruhe, hometown of leading ATM supplier COMSOFT. The multi-annual event brings all participating ANSPs together to determine the further course of action in the context of CAMOS (Centralized ARTAS Maintenance and Operational Support). CAMOS stands for a comprehensive service provided by COMSOFT as the industrial partner of EUROCONTROL, supporting ARTAS users in each and every regard.
The AUG meeting is held three times a year as a platform to exchange experiences and take a closer look at recent and planned developments regarding software, hardware and documentation versions but also hot topics such as safety management issues. The constant contribution of the users through a forum is hereby an established and welcomed procedure. Costas Christodoulou, EUROCONTROL's ARTAS manager and chairman of the AUG stated: "As the users have a great interest in participating in the decision making process, regarding the future evolution of ARTAS, meeting as often as three times a year is essential."
The first meeting was held in 1998 and is alternatively held at EUROCONTROL's headquarters in Brussels or at the premises of volunteering ANSPs. For the second time COMSOFT hosted the event, giving the participants the opportunity to personally meet the workforce behind CAMOS and have a closer look at the AWA development.
