Aerobits and LMT cooperate with UTM system development in Latvia

- Szczecin, Poland.

Aerobits, together with LMT (Latvian Mobile Telephone) established cooperation aimed at increasing the level of safety in the Latvian airspace for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS).

The intended start of the PoC is summer 2021 with an anticipated duration of 2 to 3 months within which various test scenarios will take place. These will include: demonstrations flights, LTE network coverage and UTM integration. For the PoC, Aerobits will provide the following solutions: sector antennas, omni-directional ground stations, HOD devices and ADS-B transceivers. We plan to enrich the project with additional solutions based on Remote ID technology.

For this purpose, we are currently designing a network-based ground infrastructure solution that will monitor Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) – compliant with existing remote ID directives.

Our project will be in line with the standards to the guidelines described by ASTM International.

The project will carry out nationwide demonstration flights within and outside the cities and will be based on ADS-B and LTE technology.

We believe that this fusion of the above-described technologies will be able to fully ensure safety in the airspace.
