ALTYS provides data link test system to DFS

- Toulouse, France.

ALTYS Technologies’ PEER test tool has been chosen this April by Deutsche Flugsicherung (DFS), the German Air Navigation Service Provider, for end-to-end validation of its data link infrastructure.

DFS provides Controller-to-Pilot Data Link Communication (CPDLC) services in parts of the German upper airspace using its own data link network. CPDLC communications, now mandatory in Europe for all ANSPs and aircraft operators as per the European Commission Regulation 29/2009, supplement traditional voice communications with text messages, optimizing en-route operations.

ALTYS’s PEER system will simulate aircraft sending and receiving CPDLC messages over the VDL Mode 2 channel and ATN, allowing DFS to perform acceptance and non-regression testing of its data link network and ATC systems.

DFS is added to a growing number of ANSPs such as the FAA and the French DSNA using ALTYS’s data link test systems.
