ASA, Cape Verde, contracts Frequentis for implementation of smartMessenger v4.0

Empresa Nacional de Aeroportos e Seguranca Aerea (ASA) in the Republic of Cape Verde has been operating an AFTN/AMHS system supplied by Global Weather Dynamics, Inc (GWDI) since 2005. The system is installed at the Oceanic Control Center at Sal Airport and connects to domestic users as well as international communication centers in the Azores Islands (LPAZ) and the Canary Islands (GCCC).
The AFTN/AMHS system plays a critical role in ASA daily operations, which includes responsibility for air traffic management services in the Sal oceanic Flight Information Region (FIR), serving several major air routes connecting Europe and Africa to the Americas.

ASA has contracted Frequentis to upgrade the current AFTN/AMHS system to smartMessenger v4.0, with its enhanced performance capabilities and intuitive user interface, to guarantee the extension of reliable service well into the future.

About smartMessenger

smartMessenger is the fastest AMHS system available on the market. smartMessenger comes with a high performance X.400 Message Transfer Agent (MTA) and a high speed queuing system for AFTN and AMHS messaging, enabling smartMessenger to achieve a minimum performance level of 350 AMHS messages switched per second when one MTA is connected, and higher levels of performance achieved when multiple MTAs are connected.

smartMessenger is field proven with a growing worldwide base of satisfied customers. With the release of smartMessenger v4.0, which was developed entirely in-house, Frequentis ensures long term support and commitment to its customers without relying on third party entities.
