Aveillant unveiled as an Institution of Engineering and Technology Awards (IET) Finalist

- Cambridge, UK.

UK radar technology company, Aveillant has been announced as a finalist in a worldwide competition to recognise the best innovations in engineering, science and technology. Aveillant has been shortlisted by IET with the prestigious London award ceremony taking place on 19th November.

Aveillant was selected as a finalist in the Navigation and Surveillance Communications category in recognition of its 3D Holographic Radar™ which represents a significant breakthrough in radar technology. The radar provides a constant view of airspace at all times, removing unwanted “clutter”. The radar also uses the ‘L band’ frequency instead of the highly congested ‘S band’ frequency, used by the majority of civil and military airport radars and, more recently, much coveted for use by mobile broadband.

The IET Innovation Awards recognise excellence across 16 categories from sustainability and transport to communications and healthcare technologies a unique opportunity for engineering inventors to showcase their brightest ideas.

David Crisp, CEO of Aveillant, says: “The IET Innovation Awards celebrate achievement across various sectors and we’re thrilled to be nominated as finalists for the esteemed Innovation Award. We have been working tirelessly for four years to develop and create pioneering radar which offers solutions to the problems traditional primary surveillance radars cannot alleviate. The nomination is recognition of a radar that will shape the future of surveillance.”
