Aviation Renewables Provides Radio Controlled Solar Airfield Lighting System

Aviation Renewables is supplying a radio controlled solar powered LED taxiway lighting system for installation at an undisclosed forward operating base in Afghanistan.

The airfield will install 254 radio-controlled taxiway and helipad edge lights, stake mount systems and encrypted radio controllers. With night vision goggle (NVG) compatible LED lighting and encrypted radio control from Avlite Systems this delivery will provide the air base with immediate on/off control, visible and infrared outputs, intensity control and systems diagnostics. Operating in rugged mountainous terrain, the lights will survive heavy snowfall, extreme hot and cold, sand blasting and repeated rotor wash.
