Aviation Renewables has been awarded a contract to provide the Solar Series Portable LED Wind Cones to support tactical operations in the Middle East. In consultation with the customer and its partner P. Wedge Windsocks Company Ltd., Aviation Renewables designed a portable LED wind cone lighting system that is capable of operating under covert night vision goggle (NVG) conditions. Completely self-contained with a solar power energy control and monitoring system, visible or infrared LEDs, rechargeable batteries, tactical guy wires and the AV70 solar LED obstruction light, the Solar Series LED Portable Wind Cone met all of the customer requirements for rapid and mobile nightly operations. The Solar Series Portable LED Wind Cone can be deployed or retrieved within minutes, emit variable intensities of infrared or visible LED light output, operate in all environments, withstand rotor wash or jet blast and increase safety of operations by providing bright and effective wind direction indication for approaching or departing pilots. Constructed from high-grade aluminum with a patented swivel and high brightness LEDs, the P. Wedge Wind Cones are the most commonly installed and currently operating solar LED wind cone in the industry operating on all major continents supporting customers such as the Unite Nations, US Forces, NATO, international airports, hospitals and private exploration companies.
