AviBit to provide the new Integrated Tower Information System at Tirana International Airport

ANTA, the Albanian National Air Traffic Agency has awarded the contract for the installation of an Integrated Tower Information System for the new ATC tower at Tirana International Airport to TCN and AviBit.

The tender was awarded to the local partner TCN which subcontracted the project to AviBit. The new integrated system by AviBit will be the key instrument for monitoring and control of the existing Air Field Lighting, Wind and Weather Information, Navigational Aids as well as Cabin Control and Document Management. The HMI will be configured specifically to the needs of the air traffic controllers.
AviBit has been awarded as the system supplier for this project which includes the delivery of AviBits Integrated Tower Information System INFOMAX and the delivery of integration services for 10 sub systems. The scope of the project covered system integration of the existing Air Field Lighting from ADB, the integration of the new Weather Observation system from Saab and the new Navigational Aids from Selex. In addition to this, AviBit will also provide a Document Management System to host all manuals and documents needed in the day to day operation in the tower. The open architecture and flexible software design and the experience in integration of existing systems have been key elements in winning this contract, says Josef Kutschi, Sales Director of AviBit.

The project will be implemented over a period of 9 months and includes the integration of 10 sub systems including the AFL, AWOS, ATIS, Navaids and control of cabin lights, doors and sun shades.
