Barco first to offer complete and integrated queue management toolset for smooth air traffic flow

Visualization specialist Barco proudly presents its OSYRIS Queue Management software, the industry's first complete and proven toolset for an integrated air traffic arrival, departure and flow management to help increase airport and airspace capacity and reduce operator workload. Barco will present its OSYRIS Queue Management software at ATC Global 2011, from 8 to 10 March 2011.
Barco has developed its OSYRIS Queue Management software to provide ATC (Air Traffic Control) operators and air traffic stakeholders with a set of interoperable decision support tools. The OSYRIS toolset is the industry's first complete software package for an integrated air traffic flow and queue management.

The software offers a pre-tactical ATM (Air Traffic Management) network management and various tactical ATC support tools to ensure a smooth and safe air traffic operation and control. Consequently, these decision support tools help reduce operator workload, improve flight profiles and avoid delays, leading to significant savings in fuel burns and operations costs and reduced CO2 emissions.

Barco's OSYRIS Queue Management software is the only solution for air traffic management bundling a complete set of tools to proactively manage aircraft delays. The Arrival and Departure Management components offer optimized strategies to avoid runway queues. Barco's Flow Management tool allows rescheduling of flights to match demand to capacity and helps visualize imbalances, while Departure Metering de-bunches departure, arrival and transit traffic peaks at dedicated coordination points.

Frank Koehne, CEO and managing director of Barco Orthogon GmbH, comments: OSYRIS Queue Management software offers a comprehensive range of interoperable tools for efficient decision-making through improved coordination and centralized planning. These tools are highly flexible and adaptable to local requirements and needs, ensuring optimal performance for all Air Navigation Service Providers and Airspace Users worldwide.
