Brand-new Control Center, featuring trusted Barco technology

- Amsterdam, The Netherlands

This Tuesday is D-day for the brand-new Air Traffic Control Center (ATCC) at Ljubljana airport. After months’ of preparations, the new ATCC will open on 12 March. It features 22 new Barco ISIS displays and as many ADP-361 auxiliary displays, supported by DPM-7700 networked graphic devices, to monitor the Slovenian airspace.

Ljubliana’s Air Control Center has had very positive experiences with Barco’s ISIS displays in the past. “We had been using ISIS displays at our previous control center, for seven years on end without the slightest problem. All our air traffic controllers loved the displays on account of their ease-of-use and brightness,” said Slobodan Opacic, ATM expert and air traffic controller. “After all those years, we did need some new displays though. Barco was the only provider which could offer us a total package of displays and graphics devices. We’re glad that we’ll be able to continue working with the trusted Barco equipment.”

With more than 9,000 displays operational - out of 12,000 in the field worldwide - Barco's ISIS main display for ATC controller working positions has become the world's leading ATC display. The latest version of the ISIS 2K x 2K LCD display is the first in the industry to use replaceable LED backlights instead of traditional CCFL lamps. As a result, the new ISIS reduces power consumption by 20% without sacrificing brightness or detail. The auxiliary displays offer extra display size and resolution, while maintaining a good optical match with the main display.
