CANSO ATM Aircraft Data Communications Conference

CANSO, the Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation, will stage its
first Controller-Pilot Datalink Communications Conference in Amsterdam
on 6-8 September.
Air Traffic Management (ATM) will require the extensive use of digital
aircraft/ground communications between pilots and controllers as a
viable alternative to VHF voice radio, if programmes such as NextGen and SESAR are to succeed. This conference will review the current status of plans and initiatives designed to ensure the successful delivery of ATM - Aircraft Data Communications.

Graham Lake, Director General, CANSO said, "With so much riding on the success of SESAR and NextGen, CANSO is concerned that not enough is being done by the industry to address digital air-to-ground communications. By inviting the key players to this conference we will be able to identify the critical areas of development that still need to be addressed."

As well as ATM providers, this conference will be relevant for aircraft manufacturers, avionic suppliers, ATM system providers, communications
service providers and both standards and regulatory organisations.
More details relating to this event will be made available in the coming
weeks on www.canso.org/events.
