COMSOFT and NATS Celebrate 10th Anniversary of ERCAMS

COMSOFT's advanced radar supervision system tailored for the UK has accomplished reliable operations for 10 years.
KARLSRUHE/GERMANY, October 2008 Ten years ago British NATS contracted the German surveillance specialist COMSOFT for the design and supply of their En-route Control And Monitoring System (ERCAMS). The core team of the respective experts came together in Karlsruhe last week and celebrated this milestone anniversary.
ERCAMS is an advanced supervision system based on COMSOFT's product CMS/XA. Contracted in 1998, it now monitors 22 en-route radar stations throughout the UK. ERCAMS immensely modernized the existing surveillance infrastructure and dependably provides safe, cost efficient and centralized processing and visualization services.
Also selecting COMSOFT for the second stage of the project, ERCAMS II, which was tendered in 2006, was a tremendous endorsement for the German ATM supplier. ERCAMS II induced the successive upgrade of all major radar stations and will remain operational until 2015.
Today both companies can look back on a long and successful track record of corporate activities which started more than 15 years ago. The initial project was the UK-RADNET, a country-wide radar data network which is one of the most sophisticated surveillance infrastructures in the world.
