COMSOFT to Provide Nationwide Integrated ATM Solution to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Entire GACA Air Navigation Services airspace will be served by an integrated ATM solution from COMSOFT
COMSOFT has been awarded a contract by the General Authority of Civil Aviation/Air Navigation Services (GACA/ANS) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Headquarters of GACA is the coastal city Jeddah, the Kingdoms commercial center and entry point for millions of pilgrims making their way to Mecca for the annual Hajj. In order to handle the extra air traffic volumes during the Hajj, and ensure the safe, orderly and punctual management of air traffic, the current system is being replaced.

COMSOFTs solution won in a demanding tender selection process thanks to the robust, future-proofed features of its PRISMA ATM system. PRISMA will provide air traffic management for the Kingdoms entire airspace, with installations in Jeddah, Riyadh, as well as the Approach Unit in Dammam.

We are honored and delighted to have been selected by GACA for the deployment of our ATM solution in Saudi Arabia, says Manfred Schmid, COMSOFTs Managing Director. As a provider of integrated ATM solutions, the award of this contract is a major milestone. We look forward to further strengthening our cooperation with GACA/ANS and providing them with the technology and service that will surpass all expectations in the spirit of a prospective partnership.

The COMSOFT ATM automation solution PRISMA combines all modern air navigation service functions, from pre-flight planning to real-time air navigation - as used in Area Control Centers, Approach Units and for Tower Applications. PRISMA standard services can be easily expanded with various components from COMSOFTs advanced portfolio to fit individual customers requirements.

As soon as the new system is installed, flight safety over Saudi Arabia will benefit from the sophisticated interoperability functions of the new ATM solution. In order to ensure redundancy and service continuity, the central components of the ACC in Jeddah will be replicated identically by a contingency system in Riyadh and vice versa. Further elements of the contract are the equipping of six remote towers and a complete testing and training environment, all using the latest technology.
