COMSOFT's AIXM 5 Database in the Heart of the OGC Test Bed

COMSOFT contributes sophisticated AIXM 5 database and expertise to the OGC Web Services, Phase 8 (OWS-8) Test Bed.
KARLSRUHE/GERMANY, April 2011 The OWS-8 Test Bed is part of the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Interoperability Program for the development and validation of proven candidate specifications into OGCs Specification Program. Many standards developed by OGC so far have been adopted by the International Organization for Standardisation (ISO). COMSOFT has already successfully participated in the OWS-7 Test Bed and was now selected again to contribute to the Aviation Thread of OWS-8. The programme' Aviation Thread seeks to further develop and demonstrate the integration of advanced aeronautical and meteorological data models using open OGC standards, thus expediting the tight integration of AIM and ATM solutions.
Leading companies in these groundbreaking technologies were invited to contribute their products and know-how to this pioneering undertaking, whereupon COMSOFT was selected to provide their central aeronautical database of brand CADAS-AIMDB. Native support of the complete AIXM 5.1 data model and the related ISO standards are the outstanding characteristics that make CADAS-AIMDB the ideal centerpiece of the test bed and any modern AIM solution.
Among further developments in various standards the test bed will deal with the generation and distribution of Digital NOTAMs in interaction with the Web Feature Service 2.0 (ISO 19142). The introduction of Digital NOTAMs is an inherent part of ICAO's Roadmap from AIS to AIM
