DFS Aviation Services Trainings Academy (DAS A² Academy) Strengthens International ATM Training Cooperation with Egypt’s NANSC

DFS Aviation Services (DAS) has signed a contract with Egypt’s National Air Navigation Services Company (NANSC), marking an important step in strengthening international collaboration in air traffic management (ATM) training and operational excellence.

The agreement establishes NANSC as a new customer of the DAS A² Academy and underscores the growing international demand for advanced ATM training solutions and expertise provided by DFS Aviation Services.

The partnership was formalized during a visit to Cairo, hosted by NANSC and representatives of the Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation. The agreement was signed by Captain Ehab Mohieldin Azmi, Chairman of NANSC, and Andreas Pötzsch, Managing Director of DFS Aviation Services.

“This contract marks the beginning of an important cooperation with DFS Aviation Services. The specialised training at the DAS A² Academy will further strengthen the capabilities of our air traffic management professionals,” said Captain Ehab Mohieldin Azmi, Chairman of the Board of the National Air Navigation Services Company.

Under the agreement, DFS Aviation Services will deliver specialised training programmes for Egyptian air traffic management professionals at the DAS A² Academy in Langen, Germany. The training portfolio includes courses on Controller–Pilot Data Link Communications (CPDLC), SID/STAR familiarisation, and best practices in the design and management of air navigation procedures. As part of the project, the academy will support around 80 participants through a combination of theoretical instruction and practical training elements in a modern classroom and simulator environment. The programmes are designed to support the continued development of Egypt’s air navigation system in line with international standards and industry best practices.

The cooperation reflects a shared commitment to enhancing operational efficiency, safety, and capacity within the Egyptian airspace system while fostering long-term knowledge transfer between both organizations. The cooperation aligns with the strategic objectives of Egypt’s Ministry of Civil Aviation to further develop the country’s air navigation services and strengthen the competitiveness of Egyptian airspace at both regional and international levels.
