DFS Aviation Services awarded with a consultancy project on possible implementation of Remote Tower technology for Lithuania

- Langen, Germany.

DFS Aviation Services is executing a feasibility study on the applicability of Remote Digital Tower solutions for different airfields in Lithuania.

A team of Air Traffic Management experts from DFS Group will provide consulting services to Oro Navigacija to develop a feasibility study, determine the scope and requirements of the solution, develop a cost-benefit analysis, and draft the future concepts.

Oro Navigacija will use the results of the feasibility study for long-term strategic orientation. It will be examined in detail where and in which form and constellation Remote Digital Tower solutions would be a promising alternative to conventional towers. The airports Kaunas, Palanga, Šiauliai and Vilnius will be in focus here. The results are expected in December 2023.

Tomas Montvila, Chief Operating Officer at Oro Navigacija emphasises: "We are looking forward to the results of the study. We are relying immensely on the comprehensive expertise - especially operational - of DFS Aviation Services, as an experienced air navigation service provider.”

“We are delighted to be able to help our Lithuanian colleagues on their road towards Remote Digital Tower with our vast experience from DFS Group on the use of this technology to provide air traffic services,” adds Andreas Pötzsch, Managing Director at DAS.
