The Government authorises the tendering of a €26.1 million contract to ensure specialised air navigation information services

- Madrid, Spain.

Today, the Council of Ministers authorised the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, through ENAIRE, to tender a €26.1 million contract (excluding VAT) for a five-year period to provide specialised services in the operation and hosting of information systems for the national air navigation manager.

ENAIRE’s digital transformation has led to an evolution in the architecture of its information systems, consolidating a model based on virtualised infrastructures and cloud services

This contract will support the model in place, ensuring continuity in the provision of these services and covering the costs associated with hosting its technological infrastructure.

The development of this new model has directly contributed to reducing the number of incidents, while creating a more robust, resilient technological base that can adapt to new operational requirements. ENAIRE’s digital transformation has led to a significant evolution in the architecture of its information systems, consolidating a model based on virtualised infrastructures and cloud services.

ENAIRE's management of air navigation has created new operational and maintenance demands for its information systems.

This increase is not merely quantitative but reflects a strategy of modernisation, specialisation, and continuous adaptation to both needs and technological advances.

In this regard, the planned investment is essential to meeting objectives such as ensuring operational continuity and stability; supporting the technological evolution and adaptability of the public corporation; providing advanced technical expertise and support; improving service efficiency and quality; and advancing ENAIRE’s strategy through its Strategic Plan (Flight Plan).

In this context, a further investment of €24 million (excluding VAT) has recently been authorised to renew five radars with three-dimensional technology, along with another €46.8 million (excluding VAT) to drive ENAIRE’s digitisation.

In addition to significantly raising reliability standards, this migration has enabled the consolidation of the technology base, optimised maintenance, and simplified environment management, while integrating advanced monitoring capabilities, intelligent energy consumption control, and full operational traceability.
