ERA extends MAK certification in Russia

ERA a.s. has achieved extended MAK certification for the use of its equipment in Wide Area Multilateration (WAM) and Height Measurement (HMU) applications.
ERA a.s., (ERA) announced today the award of type certificate number 542 from the Interstate Aviation Commission. This certification acknowledges the design of ERA equipment meets all certification requirements for use as a WAM surveillance system and an HMU. The certification process involved verification of the operational results of ERAs deployed WAM and HMU systems, and the extensive audit of the documentation and production process used at ERA facilities. ERAs HMU is now able to support the monitoring tasks for the Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum (RVSM) program that recently started in the airspace above Russia and the countries of the Eurasia region. As a result of this certification ERA is now the only vendor that has achieved the certification required for the operation of multilateration surveillance and height monitoring systems in Russia.

Valery Nikolayevich Goncharov, Chairman of the Commission on certification of airdromes and equipment stated that ERA has proven their equipment capable of meeting the exacting requirements of the IAC and we look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with the company.
