Esterline wins new order for 76 ATC Display from Air Traffic Control The Netherlands

- Kortrijk, Belgium

Esterline Corporation a leading specialty manufacturer serving global aerospace and defense markets, is the winner of the European tender of Air Traffic Control the Netherlands (LVNL) to upgrade its existing range of ATC displays. The choice for Esterline was made after a series of operators unanimously selected Esterline’s Codis 2Kx2K ATC displays in a blind test. Esterline delivered the first 21 Codis 2Kx2K displays over the last several weeks. 55 more displays will be delivered in 2018.

Esterline’s ATC display business recorded growth in fiscal year 2016, as leading ATC centers like Air Traffic Control the Netherlands continue to confirm their trust in Esterline. In addition to the Netherlands’ Eurocontrol (200 displays) and Air Forces (40 displays), LVNL has been relying on ATC displays from the well-reputed display company for many years.

Unanimous winner in blind tests LVNL is already using Esterline consoles but they were end-of-life. To be as neutral and objective as possible in the tender for new ATC displays, LVNL conducted a blind test involving three competing solutions. Marcel Bakker, General Manager Systems & Infrastructure LVNL: “Our air traffic controllers unanimously chose Esterline’s CODIS display on account of its exceptional optical performance. The Esterline offering also scored best on mechanical integration, backwards compatibility and price.” Esterline delivered the first 21 Codis 2Kx2K displays, ahead of schedule, in the last few weeks. 55 more consoles will be replaced in 2018.
