EUROCONTROL PRISMIL receives prestigious Janes ATC Global Award

EUROCONTROL received the Janes ATC Award for its Contribution to European ATM with PRISMIL (Pan-European Repository of Information Supporting Civil-Military Performance Measurements).
Now in their eleventh year, the prestigious Janes ATC Global Awards highlight vital moves towards safer, environmentally friendlier skies and enhanced capacity within the airspace management industry. Nominations were reviewed by an experienced panel of judges from the FAA, ICAO, CANSO, EUROCONTROL and Janes Information Group. The PRISMIL service is EUROCONTROLs tailored activity supporting civil and military stakeholders in the implementation of performance measurements at both national and pan-European level; it allows data to be collected, integrated and stored. Through the PRISMIL portal, States have the possibility to review their airspace procedures and assess their performance in terms of flexible use of airspace (FUA) operations in compliance with the Single European Sky (SES) requirements. PRISMIL provides a single access point to a comprehensive set of performance data on civil-military airspace management (ASM) processes; it is the very first application of business intelligence in ASM at pan-European level. My special gratitude goes to Belgium, France and Germany, the pioneer States in PRISMIL implementation and to my small team of only 4 experts that has done the bulk of the work, says Goran Redzepovic, the PRISMIL Programme Manager. Jean Robert Cazarré, Director Civil-Military ATM Coordination and Single European Sky Implementation, says: It is a special honour to receive this prestigious award. With PRISMIL in hand, national civil and military authorities, air navigation service providers, airspace users and EUROCONTROL will be in a considerably better position to establish civil-military performance based partnership within the future performance scheme.
