Free education programme at ATC Global features over 40 significant seminars and forums

The SESAR JU annual forum, an ICAO twelfth air navigation conference preparatory event and the European Regional Runway Safety Seminar are just some of the important workshops taking place at this years ATC Global Exhibition and Conference.
Visitors to the show will have a choice of more than forty sessions to attend free of charge; each session providing a unique opportunity to hear from programme managers, regulators, suppliers and experts, giving their insight into the latest market developments, research projects and technological advancements. The programme comprises nine workshops hosted in collaboration with leading organisations including ICAO, SESAR JU, EUROCAE, EUROCONTROL, FABEC, EASA , Searidge Technologies, Nav Canada and the Open Geospatial Consortium, complemented by more than thirty seminars on important ATM technical and procedural improvements led by organisations such as ENAV, GE Aviation, Airways International, Frequentis, Comsoft and Metron Aviation.

Over the last 22 years the ATC Global Exhibition and Conference has evolved into the worlds definitive ATM event and this year it will be more comprehensive than ever. The huge growth in visitor numbers each year reflects the increasing range of products and services on display in the exhibition and the quality of the education programme, which includes a strategic high level two-day conference and a comprehensive freely-available operational workshop and seminar programme. This is my first show, commented Shawn Copeland, Chief Airspace and Airfield Operations of the US Airforce, a visitor at ATC Global 2011, The educational content is great compared to other shows...content was impressive, new and insightful.

In-depth workshops available to attend over the three days include Remote Towers; Use of Open Standards in the Modernisation of ATM; chaired by George Percivall, Chief Architect and the Executive Director of OGC; FABEC - on its way to daily operations chaired by Dieter Kaden, CEO, DFS, which discusses the implementation of FAB Europe Centrals common performance plan and cross-border airspace design projects and close civil-military cooperation in parallel with the daily operations of the ten FABEC ANSPs. Speaker contributions include Daniel Weder, CM ASB CEO of Skyguide, Paul Riemens, CEO, of LVNL, Maurice Georges, CEO of DSNA, Colonel GS Ian Logan, FABEC Military Coordination Group and representation from the Military Co-ordination Group. The one day Regional Runway Safety Seminar organised in partnership with ICAO and in corporation with EUROCONTROL and EASA will give the first feedback on the progress made in runway safety best practices, coming one year after the ICAO Global Runway Symposium held in Montreal last May.

Provided for the more technical audience are three SESAR JU Technical workshops which will acquaint ATM specialists with the state-of-play of some of the cornerstones of the SESAR technical concepts. The annual SESAR JU Forum, chaired by Patrick Ky, Executive director, SESAR JU will present progress made on this ambitious European research, development and modernisation programme, including results from AIRE 2 and the outlook for 2012. Speaker contributions include David McMillan, Director General, EUROCONTROL, Olivier Jankovec, Director General, ACI Europe and Frank de Winne, ESA Astronaut and Chairman of the SESAR Scientific Committee amongst others.
