FREQUENTIS strengthens its international presence: new subsidiary serves the Brazilian market

Frequentis do Brasil was founded in May 2011 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Frequentis AG, the internationally successful high-tech company with headquarters in Vienna, Austria. Brazil has long been a strategic focus for Frequentis, and a local presence should accelerate the companys business growth in the dynamic and expanding Brazilian market.

Frequentis is a global supplier of communication and information systems for safety-critical applications, and the market leader in the air traffic management sector. The companys first Brazilian success in its core market voice communication systems for civil and military air traffic management was in 2007, when Frequentis was contracted to reequip the tower at São Paulo-Congonhas airport and deliver mobile tower facilities. Further contracts then followed, the most recent of which was for the supply of a conferencing system for the Brazilian Air Navigation Management Center. Frequentis is currently installing a nationwide air traffic management network for the country.

The Brazilian market shows considerable promise, not least due to the planned infrastructural improvements associated with the countrys hosting of two major international sporting events: the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games. The related investments, particularly those in airports, public safety and public transport, represent an excellent opportunity for Frequentis do Brasil: the establishment of this local subsidiary was inevitable with the growing volume of business undertaken by Frequentis in the country. Given his work to date as the Frequentis representative on the ground in Brazil, Manfred Hauser has been entrusted with the leadership of the new company.

Dr. Christian Pegritz, member of the Frequentis AG executive board with responsibility for sales and marketing, commented on the newest addition to the Frequentis Group, saying, One of the cornerstones of our Vision 2015 is the systematic expansion of our regional structures as we continue to grow our global business. The new subsidiary is a positive example of the controlled and strategic way in which were approaching this expansion effort.
