Federal Aviation Administration and FREQUENTIS Celebrate the 100th IVSR Voice Communication Systems for the National Airspace System

- Columbia, USA.

Over the past 15 years, FREQUENTIS USA, Inc. has provided communications solutions for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and National Airspace System (NAS) including NextGen air traffic control (ATC) facilities. Recently Frequentis USA celebrated the 100th VCS3020X Communications System for the FAA under the Interim Voice Switch Replacement (IVSR) contract.

For more than a decade now Frequentis has been successfully delivering IVSR voice communication systems to small and large air traffic control towers (ATCTs) and terminal radar approach control facilities (TRACONs) across the US and its territories, providing safe, reliable and critical communications between air traffic controllers and pilots. With its 100th system delivery this year, the IVSR program is providing nationwide coverage to FAA facilities in the National Air Space and is used by air traffic controllers to perform millions of ATC operations annually.

February 19th, Frequentis celebrated this 100th IVSR system together with key FAA representatives at their Columbia MD headquarters. The IVSR program was recognized as a viable contributor to the FAA National Airspace System and praised for its stellar delivery performance in time and budget throughout the last ten years. The celebrated 100th VCS3020X IVSR will be deployed into the FAA’s Deployable Air Traffic Control Facility (DATCF) program later this year. NextGen ready, Frequentis IVSR systems incorporate a future proof design with a technology roadmap including Voice-over-IP networking using the latest Air Traffic Control specification ED-137 for the emerging IP-based air ground radio voice communications, as well as unmanned aircraft system (UAS) operation following latest Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautics (RTCA)recommendations.

Leonard Swiontek, President of FREQUENTIS USA, Inc. presented commemorative awards to FAA personnel to celebrate this achievement. Recognizing this milestone production of 100 systems for FAA is an honour for FREQUENTIS USA Mr. Swiontek stated, “We are proud to contribute to the FAA’s NAS modernization with our safe and reliable communication systems. Over the years, and in partnership with our FAA program office, we have dedicated our efforts to ensure that the VCS3020X IVSR system meets or exceeds the FAA’s needs. Continuing our IVSR system deliveries on schedule, within budget and following the highest safety standards is our foremost commitment to the FAA and the flying public.”
