Global Industry Leaders to Come Together at Airport Show 2011

Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, the Airport Show is dedicated to airport construction, operations, technology and services.

ADB Airfield Solutions, Smiths Detection ME FZE, Siemens ME, AXA Power, ADPi are some of the companies that have pledged to showcase their products and solutions at the show that will be held from 31 May - 2 June at the Airport Expo.

The event comes at a time when the regions investments in airport construction are projected to touch over US$100 billion.

Airport Show 2011 will host suppliers of equipment and services covering all areas of airport development and operations under one roof, offering a one-stop platform that caters to the needs of airports in the region. It will feature solutions in security, ground support equipment, supply, airport revenue management, design and build, technology, air traffic management, as well as operations, training and recruitment.

According to the Middle East Airport Security Market Assessment Report, safety and security remains an important focus that grows in parallel with the ongoing airport construction activity witnessed in the region. The study has estimated the region accounts for 14.4 per cent of the global critical infrastructure protection market. Spending in the Middle East on security-related equipment and service is also set to increase to AED212 million (US$57.7million) by 2015, according to research.

According to the seventh Airline IT Trends Survey, the outlook for 2011 remains positive with 78 per cent of airports expecting their budgets to stay the same or increase. Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa are projected to be the strongest growth sectors.

The upcoming edition of Airport Show 2011 will offer a combination of high quality networking and business development opportunities through a series of roundtable discussions, innovation and project seminars. In addition, a hosted buyer programme will serve as one of the highlights of the event.
