Director appointments at Helios

Aviation consultancy Helios has announced four internal promotions to its director team, reflecting the continued expansion of its aviation business. Claire Davies, James Hanson, Adam Parkinson and Mark Scott, all based at the Farnborough HQ, will continue in their client-facing leadership roles. Commenting on the appointments, Helios executive chairman Mike Shorthose said: “I have found it exciting to see people grow within Helios, take responsibility and become acknowledged internally and externally as industry leaders. These four promotions recognise the breadth and depth of Claire, James, Adam and Mark’s aviation knowledge, their commitment to quality, and their excellent track record in nurturing close and trusted relationships with clients and colleagues. I’m delighted for them!”

Claire Davies leads Helios’ long standing work on the Single European Sky with the Industry Consultation Board on behalf of the European Commission. She also advises ANS clients on governance and strategy, and is experienced in helping clients address long-term uncertainties to their business.

James Hanson looks after a growing portfolio of services to air navigation service providers and is currently advising clients on strategic changes brought about by disruptive technologies, such as remote towers and spaced based surveillance.

Adam Parkinson provides leadership on the implementation of new technologies, concepts and change within ATM. He advises on mitigating the aviation impacts of wind farms, on improving contingency responses and is currently supporting the European Commission on the implementation of 8.33 kHz in Europe.

Mark Scott leads Helios’ work with the National Supervisory Authority Coordination Platform and oversees ATM performance-related activities and analysis.

Helios Managing Director Nick McFarlane adds: “The four new directors have contributed substantially to the growth of Helios in recent years, winning new business, establishing new service lines, and delivering the broadest range of customers that the company has ever had. We all wish them well in their new roles.”
